Home

We believe that more can be done to improve education and employment outcomes for students in remote Australia, particularly Aboriginal girls and young women. 

The Girls from Oz (g-oz) program, uses a tried and tested performing arts engagement model developed over 30 years by the Australian School of Performing Arts, to engage and re-engage females living in some of the most at-risk communities in Australia.

Thinking of becoming a 2024 Giving Circles Coordinator, but don`t know where to start?

Here are some helpful tips from a few of our past GC Coordinators:

KEEP IT SIMPLE – Fundraise in a way that is comfortable, realistic, and achievable for you and your current capacity. No need to go overboard. As Jacqui says: "$5 raised is better than no dollars raised" 😊

REACH OUT – Chat to your friends, your family, your classmates or co-workers. Spread awareness and invite them to donate to your Giving Circle and the g-oz cause. Even speaking to just a few people can have a major ripple effect!

BE BOLD – It can feel daunting at first, but don’t be afraid to connect with your established networks. Share your GC Coordinator status and your Giving Circle fundraising idea in person, via text message, and/or on your social media accounts to get the word out and promote your Circle.

COLLABORATE – Feeling a bit worried about going at it alone? As our g-oz Programs Assistant, Hallie, says: “Try it with a friend or family…because two networks is always better than one.”

USE YOUR CURRENT SKILLS – No need to reinvent the wheel...are you a fantastic baker? Plan a bake sale! Are you a singer, or musician? Host a gig! As Vicki King, the Australian School of Performing Arts’ Artistic Director, says: "Don’t put too much pressure on yourself…have fun with it"!

This year’s 2024 Giving Circles Fundraising Campaign runs from Sunday 26 May until Sunday 30 June.
