Giving Tuesday: 5 ways to make a difference!

Tuesday, 2 December 2025 marks the global generosity movement ‘Giving Tuesday’, a campaign recognising not-for-profits, like Girls from Oz, that give back to community.

“GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of radical generosity. GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Since then, it has grown into a year-round global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

Since its beginnings in 2007, g-oz has positively impacted the lives of over 3000 girls in remote Australia through the delivery of 178 Community Programs; 22 Travel Programs; and 4 Reverse Travel Programs.

Working with schools across Western Australia’s Kimberley region and Queensland’s Cape York Peninsula, g-oz harnesses the power of the performing arts to keep girls in school, build on their confidence and support them on their path to success.

This Giving Tuesday, we’re calling on our community to join in on this global movement, so that we can continue providing transformative performing arts education and enriching opportunities to girls living in Halls Creek, Bidyadanga, Lockhart River and Kowanyama.

DONATE:

This Giving Tuesday on 2 December donate to g-oz. Even a donation as small as $5 makes a difference! We are so grateful for the generosity of our dedicated supporters, whose contributions ensure we can continue to reliably deliver our programs to girls across remote Australia.

RAISE AWARENESS:

Growing awareness can help drive donations to g-oz. Simply re-sharing one of our social media posts or one of our mini-documentaries to your social media platforms can invite like-minded people to learn about and support our work!

JOIN OUR REGULAR GIVING NETWORK:

For just a tiny $10 a month you can made a big difference to the lives of girls living remotely in some of Australia’s most underserved and vulnerable communities. Join our committed group of regular donors who choose to contribute to supporting the next generation of Australian women through monthly donations to our vital performing arts programs.

HOST A FUNDRAISER:

Rally your workplace, connect with your community or catch up with friends while raising funds for g-oz! Consider hosting a g-oz fundraising event or initiative this Giving Tuesday, coming together with your network to support a worthy cause. REGISTER FOR WORKPLACE GIVING:

Support g-oz beyond Giving Tuesday! If your employer has a Workplace Giving Program in place, you can nominate Girls from Oz as your preferred charity and start giving through your organisation’s payroll system.
