Carolyn McAdam is a Jaru and Gidja woman who lives in Halls Creek with her family and works as a Programs Manager for the Wunan Foundation. Carolyn has considerable experience in engaging with the government, advocating for Aboriginal people in the East Kimberley and has a particular interest in education. She is Co-Chair of the WA Government Department of Communities ACCO Strategic Priority Working Group; Halls Creek Director Binarri-binyja yarrawoo: Empowered Communities and Director Ngarringaa Ngurra Safehouse as well as being a member of the Halls Creek District High School Council. Carolyn has a passionate interest in improving outcomes for people in Halls Creek and the Tjurabalan, and the wider East Kimberley. She works hard to advocate to ensure equality and equity are achieved across the region, especially for the more vulnerable people of the community.
We first met Carolyn in 2010 when her eldest daughter, Kate, was an enthusiastic g-oz participant who travelled to Melbourne and Sydney on our first two Travel Programs.
